Bi-annually we do a dance show, usually written and compiled by Deborah Bond. Every class of kids in the school gets to take part, from the pre-school children to the senior students and adults. Last year the show was based around a busker.

Pre-Primary Ballet

We take a term out from syllabus classes when we work on our show and then the fully costumed, professionally lit show goes into the theatre for the technical/dress rehearsal before each branch perform 2-4 shows each. Costumes are organised and paid for by the school with a small hire charge to parents which covers wear & tear and cleaning. We use professional photographers Janine Hall (www.janinehallphotography.com) and film production company Accolade Productions to photograph and film the shows, with the exception of our Bridgwater branch.

All proceeds from the show & raffle go into a pupils account which buy the costumes and fund the production. Last year over £6,000 was spent on costumes alone. The shows are a fun time, where students get to gain valuable performance skills and learn about the stage and theatre. These are lessons we can't teach easily in the classroom. Years on many of our older students still enjoy sharing stories and regailing the times spent doing the 'lobster' dance or the time when they were a dancing duck!
