The school was established in Plymouth in 1994 with just eleven pupils and now has over a thousand spread across five branches of the school in Plymouth, Saltash, Ivybridge, Newton Abbot and from September 2004 Bridgwater.
It is run by Deborah Bond and her team of fully qualified staff backed up by four administrative assistants. The school teaches essentially the ISTD syllabi in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz. Stage Struck musical theatre teaches all aspects of singing, drama, dance and theatre craft.
The schools permanent studio in Newton Abbot is the south west regional centre for the ISTD, holding many events, workshops and teacher training days.
Classes are held for children aged three and upwards. Adult classes are also sometimes available in salsa, rock n roll, ballet, tap and jazz.
The school has its own dancewear shop, Dancetogs at the studios in Newton Abbot which provides the school and public with uniforms and also has a large range of costumes and dance related products. |
